DAY 1    MONDAY 17TH JUNE 2013

10.00am               Depart Amsterdam by KL 1279  

10.25am               Arrive Edinburgh

 

                                Meet with your tour guide, Davina Young, and board touring coach.

Drive to centre and commence panoramic sightseeing tour of Edinburgh.  No admissions included, but photo stops will be planned.

Drambuie and stem ginger cranachan in a brandy snap basket

DAY 2    TUESDAY 18TH JUNE 2013

 

                                Full Scottish breakfast at the hotel.

 

9.00am                 After breakfast, join Davina and Fiona and depart for Edinburgh Castle.

               

NB.  Please load all musical instruments on to ONE coach.  After dropping at the castle, this coach will proceed to St.Giles Cathedral for unloading prior to today’s concert.

 

9.30am                 Visit Edinburgh Castle.  Voucher provided for admission.

                                 Booking reference: 172989.

10.30am               After the visit, walk down the Royal Mile to St.Giles Cathedral.

                                Meet with coach and unload instruments.  Commence concert set up.

12.00noon           Attend noon service (band must be in place before service commences)

12.15pm               MSU Alumni Band concert at St.Giles Cathedral

                                Pack away instruments and load onto coach waiting outside.

1.45-2.30pm       Free time for lunch.

 

2.30pm                 Rejoin coaches and transfer down to King’s Stables Road.

2.45pm                 Meet Ross Bandstand staff at King’s Stables Road and unload coach. Meet also with staff from the Ross bandstand who will assist with transport of large instruments through the park to the stage.

4.00pm                 MSU Alumni Band concert at the Ross Bandstand

 

5.00pm                 Concerts ends.

Pack away instruments and load back onto coach. Again, Ross Bandstand staff will assist with transport of large instruments.

 

5.30pm                 Coach transfers back to the hotel.

 

7.00pm                 Coaches available from hotel for transfers into central Edinburgh for dinner.

                                Dinner at own expense.

                                Davina and Fiona will accompany the transfers.

 

9.30pm                 Return transfer back to hotel from pre-arranged pick-up point.

 

                                Overnight in Edinburgh

 

 

DAY 3    WEDNESDAY 19TH JUNE 2013

 

                                Full Scottish breakfast at the hotel.

 

                                Full day at leisure.

9.00am                 Two coaches available for transfer into central Edinburgh.

 

1.00pm                 One coach to provide transfer back to the hotel from a pre-arranged pick-up point.

                                This coach to return to town to assist with later transfer.

 

4.30pm                 Two coaches provide transfer back to the hotel from a pre-arranged pick-up point.

 

6.15pm                 Join Davina and Fiona and depart on two coaches for the Taste of Scotland Show and Dinner at:

8.30am                 Load instruments on to luggage truck and luggage onto coach.

9.00am                 Join Davina and Fiona and depart by coach to Blair Castle.

 

11.30am               Approximate arrival time at Blair Castle.

12.30pm               Luggage truck to proceed to Banvie Hall for instrument unloading.

12.45pm               Musicians to meet luggage truck by performance area  (raised area to the right of the main entrance to the castle) and prepare for the concert.

 

1.15pm                 MSU Alumni Band concert at Blair Castle

 

2.10pm                 Concert ends.  All instruments to be loaded back on to truck

3.00pm                 Arrive Dalwhinnie distillery.

8.30am                 Load instruments on to truck and luggage onto coaches.

 

9.00am                 Depart for Glasgow, driving via Loch Ness, Glencoe and Loch Lomond.

Comfort stops will be made en route plus stops for photos and lunch (at own expense).

 

4.00pm                 Approximate time of arrival at Glasgow hotel for check-in.

9.00am                 Depart for Edinburgh and the Royal Highland Show.

                                Lunch arrangements for supporters at own expense.

                               

1.45pm                 Set up commences for second concert.

 

2.00pm                 MSU Alumni Band concert no.2 on the West Stage.

 

2.30pm                 Concert ends.  Load instruments back on to truck.

               

                                Free time at the show.

 

4.30pm                 Rejoin coaches and depart for the hotel. Check-in on arrival.

9.10am                 Depart by KL 1278 for Amsterdam.

NB. Arrangements are made for those wishing to store instruments at the hotel for collection on your return. Select Travel Service accepts no responsibility for items left at the hotel.

 

8.00am                 Join Fiona and depart by coach for Waverley Station.

                               

On arrival at Waverley, unload on Market Street.  There are lifts down to the main platforms.

 

9.30am                 Depart by train for London.
